Post Converter – Knock-in – Round – 38.1mm

The 38.1mm Round Knock-In Post Converter is the matching fitting for 38.1mm round stainless steel posts, allowing them to accept a wooden or custom handrail in place of a standard stainless steel top rail. It presses into the open top of the post by hand, providing a flat mounting plate that your chosen handrail material can be fixed to directly — no tools, adhesive, or modifications to the post required.

The 38.1mm converter suits the slimmer post profile particularly well in applications where a timber or composite handrail is desired for aesthetic or tactile reasons — a warm timber rail above a slim stainless post is a popular combination in contemporary residential design, blending the durability and corrosion resistance of stainless steel with the natural character of wood.

As with the 50.8mm version, the knock-in stem fits snugly into the post opening and holds the converter securely in position once pressed home.

Grade 316 (Marine Grade) offers superior corrosion resistance and is the essential choice for coastal properties, poolside installations, and any environment exposed to salt air, moisture, or chemicals. If you are in Cape Town, the Winelands, Durban, or any coastal area, Grade 316 is strongly recommended.
