Balustrader (trading as Balustrader) is a South African supplier of stainless steel balustrade components, operating from showroom locations in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Our website is www.balustrader.co.za.
References to “we”, “us”, “our”, and “Balustrader” in these Terms and Conditions refer to Balustrader. References to “you” and “your” refer to the customer placing an order with us.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, placing an order, or using any of our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with a purchase.
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The version published on our website at the time of your order will apply to that order.
3. Products & Descriptions
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, and images on our website are accurate. However, minor variations in colour, finish, or dimension tolerances may occur due to the nature of manufacturing processes and screen display differences.
If you are uncertain about a product’s suitability for your project, please contact us before ordering. Our team is happy to assist.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where stated. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time your order is confirmed.
We accept payment via the methods listed at checkout. Orders are not processed until payment has been successfully confirmed. In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel an order and issue a full refund.
5. Orders & Cancellations
Once an order has been placed and payment confirmed, manufacturing commences promptly. Cancellations may be accepted if requested before manufacturing has begun. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel.
Custom-cut or bespoke orders cannot be cancelled once manufacturing has commenced, as materials are cut specifically to your requirements.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or stock unavailability, and will issue a full refund in such circumstances.
6. Manufacturing Lead Times & Delivery
Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details on manufacturing lead times, delivery timescales, and shipping costs. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept our manufacturing timeline of 10 – 15 working days prior to dispatch.
7. Returns & Refunds
Please refer to our Refund & Return Policy for full details on our 30-day return window, return conditions, and refund processing. These form part of these Terms and Conditions.
8. Disclaimer — Installation & Safety
Balustrader supplies components only. We do not provide installation services. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure that:
- All installations comply with applicable South African building regulations and local municipal by-laws.
- Work is carried out by a competent person. If in doubt, consult a registered builder or structural engineer.
- All structures are properly load-tested and deemed safe before use.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used during installation.
Balustrader accepts no liability for injury, death, property damage, or non-compliance arising from the installation or use of our products. Educational content and guides provided by us are for general guidance only and do not constitute professional engineering advice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Balustrader’s total liability to you for any claim arising from your order shall not exceed the total value paid by you for the specific products to which the claim relates.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data, or project delays.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Balustrader website — including text, images, logos, guides, and product descriptions — is the intellectual property of Balustrader and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without our express written permission.
11. Privacy

12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
13. Consumer Protection Act (CPA)
These Terms and Conditions are subject to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Nothing in these terms limits or removes rights you are entitled to under South African consumer protection legislation.
