The 50.8mm Round Weld-On Post Converter is a flat mounting plate that is welded permanently to the top of a 50.8mm round stainless steel post, converting it to accept a wooden or custom handrail. Unlike the knock-in version, it has no inner stem — it sits on top of the post and is welded around the base of the plate by the installer, creating a solid, permanently fixed mounting point that becomes structurally part of the post.

The weld-on converter is the correct choice for fully welded post assemblies where a permanent, mechanically integrated fitting is required. Once welded and finished, the converter plate is completely secure and provides a stable, flat surface for fixing a timber, composite, or custom handrail profile directly.

Post-weld finishing is the responsibility of the installer. Available in Grade 304 brushed satin for inland and non-coastal environments, or Grade 316 mirror polish for coastal and outdoor applications.
