The Swage Stopper is crimped permanently onto the end of a 4mm stainless steel cable to prevent the cable from pulling back through the hole in the termination post. Once swaged onto the cable, it creates a fixed end stop — the cable cannot move back through the post regardless of the tension applied from the other end of the run.
In a cable balustrade system, one end of each cable is fixed with a stopper while the other end is tensioned and adjusted via a tensioner fitting. The stopper end is the anchor — it takes the full tension load of the cable run and transfers it into the post at the fixed end. A correctly swaged stopper is a permanent, fail-safe termination that will not loosen or work free over the life of the installation.
Swaging requires a swage tool or crimping tool. If you do not have access to a swage tool, contact our team for guidance on alternative termination options suitable for your installation.
