The 50.8mm Round Pipe Infill Weld Stanchion (12.7mm) is designed for installers and confident DIYers who want a permanently welded infill system with the convenience of a pre-drilled, bolt-down post. The stanchion arrives with holes pre-drilled to accept 12.7mm round infill tubing — you insert your infill tubes and weld them in place, creating a solid, fixed balustrade that cannot loosen or rattle over time.

This approach is favoured by semi-professional handymen and contractors who have access to a TIG or MIG welder and want the long-term durability and rigidity of a fully welded infill system. It is also a practical choice for high-traffic or commercial installations where a non-mechanical, fully fused connection is preferred.

The post itself is still bolt-down to the ground via the included flange and base plate — no welding to the floor or structure is required. The welding is limited to securing the infill tubes within the pre-drilled holes of the post.

Each pack includes the base plate, cover plate, and saddle bracket. Infill tubing, top rail, fixing hardware, and end caps are all sold separately.

Grade 304 is strong and reliable, suited to internal applications and external use in non-coastal, non-corrosive environments — ideal for inland areas such as Johannesburg, Pretoria, and most non-coastal suburbs.

Grade 316 (Marine Grade) offers superior corrosion resistance and is the essential choice for coastal properties, poolside installations, and any environment exposed to salt air, moisture, or chemicals. If you are in Cape Town, the Winelands, Durban, or any coastal area, Grade 316 is strongly recommended.
