The 38.1mm Round Pipe Infill Weld Stanchion (12.7mm) combines a slimmer, more refined post profile with the permanence of a fully welded infill system. Pre-drilled to accept 12.7mm round infill tubing, this stanchion is designed for installers who want the clean, uncluttered look of a slender post paired with the long-term rigidity that only welding can provide.

The 38.1mm post diameter keeps the visual weight of the upright to a minimum, allowing the fine 12.7mm infill tubes to take centre stage. This is a particularly elegant combination for residential staircases, internal balconies, and covered outdoor areas where a light, architectural aesthetic is the goal.

As with all weld stanchions, welding is confined to securing the infill tubes within the post — the post itself is bolt-down via the included flange, requiring no welding to the floor or structure.

Each pack includes the base plate, cover plate, and saddle bracket. Infill tubing, top rail, fixing hardware, and end caps are all sold separately.

Which Grade Should I Choose?

Grade 304 is strong and reliable, suited to internal applications and external use in non-coastal, non-corrosive environments — ideal for inland areas such as Johannesburg, Pretoria, and most non-coastal suburbs.

Grade 316 (Marine Grade) offers superior corrosion resistance and is the essential choice for coastal properties, poolside installations, and any environment exposed to salt air, moisture, or chemicals. If you are in Cape Town, the Winelands, Durban, or any coastal area, Grade 316 is strongly recommended.
