The Green Sisal Buffing Wheel is the cutting mop used in the first stage of the stainless steel mirror polishing process. Mounted on a handheld polishing machine via its 12.5mm bore, it is used with green cutting compound to remove fine scratches, oxidation, and the micro-abrasions left by the final abrasive belt or disc — refining the surface to a consistent, smooth base ready for the finishing stage.
Sisal is a natural fibre with a more aggressive cutting action than cotton or stitched fabric wheels, making it the correct wheel for the cutting stage where the surface needs to be worked rather than merely buffed. The green sisal wheel cuts the surface efficiently with the green compound, preparing it in a single pass for the white stitched wheel and white compound to bring up the final mirror shine.
Always use the green sisal wheel before the white stitched finishing wheel. Attempting to achieve a mirror finish with the white wheel alone on a surface that has not been cut with the green sisal wheel and green compound will not produce a true mirror result — the sequence matters.
