These 115 x 22mm abrasive discs fit a standard 115mm angle grinder and cover every stage of stainless steel surface preparation — from coarse grinding and deburring through to non-woven conditioning ready for polishing compounds. Six types are available, each suited to a specific task in the finishing or preparation process. Select your required type as a variant.
Abrasive discs are the angle grinder equivalent of the polish belts used on a belt sander or linisher. They are particularly well suited to curved surfaces, tube ends, post tops, and areas of complex geometry where a belt sander cannot reach — the flexible disc conforms to the surface and covers it evenly regardless of shape.
P60 — Coarse. The starting point for aggressive material removal — weld marks, heavy scratches, significant surface imperfections. Removes material quickly to establish a clean base for finer stages. Always follow with progressively finer grits before polishing.
P80 — Medium-Coarse. Refines after P60, or serves as the starting point on surfaces with moderate imperfections where P60 would remove more material than necessary.
P120 — Medium. Continues surface refinement after P80. Produces the consistent directional scratch pattern of a brushed satin finish — this grit can serve as a final step for installations where a brushed satin result is the intended finish, particularly when followed by a light pass with the Scotch Brite Medium disc.
Scotch Brite Medium (P100) — Non-Woven Conditioning. A non-woven conditioning disc for cleaning, blending, and unifying stainless steel surfaces. Removes oxidation, weld discolouration, and surface marks without the risk of over-grinding. Leaves a consistent satin finish. Used between the abrasive grit stages and polishing compounds, or as a final finish in its own right. The flexible non-woven construction conforms to curved and complex surfaces.
Scotch Brite Fine (P180) — Non-Woven Conditioning. The finer of the two Scotch Brite conditioning discs. A lighter, more refined action suited to pre-polish conditioning, light surface maintenance, and surfaces already in good condition that require only a gentle pass before polishing compounds or Autosol Marine Metal Polish Liquid.
Deburring P320 — Deburring. Removes the sharp burrs and raised edges left on stainless steel tube ends after cutting with a cutting disc. At P320 it removes the burr cleanly without altering the cut geometry — producing a smooth, safe tube end that slides correctly into fittings and is safe to handle. An important step that is easy to overlook but protects both the installer and the quality of the finished installation.
All discs are sold individually. Prices vary by type — see variant pricing above.
