The White Polishing Compound is the finishing stage of the mirror polishing process for stainless steel. Used after the green cutting compound has refined the surface, the white compound brings up the final, high-gloss mirror shine — transforming a bright, cut surface into a true, reflective mirror finish.

The white compound is a much finer abrasive than the green — it does not cut significantly, it polishes. Applied to a clean polishing mop or buffing wheel, it works the surface to a liquid-smooth, highly reflective finish that matches the factory mirror polish of new stainless steel components.

Always apply the white compound as the final step — after the abrasive belts, after the Scotch Brite conditioning belt, and after the green cutting compound. Using white compound on a surface that has not been properly prepared through the preceding stages will not produce a mirror finish — the surface must be correctly refined at each stage before the white compound can do its job.
