The Swage Socket Tensioner is permanently crimped onto the end of a 4mm stainless steel cable and provides the threaded connection between the swaged cable end and the tensioner body or post fitting. Once swaged, the socket becomes a fixed, integral part of the cable end — the cable cannot be removed from the socket, and the threaded body of the socket engages directly with the tensioner or post thread to apply and adjust cable tension.
Left hand and right hand thread versions work together in tensioning assemblies where opposing thread directions allow the system to be tightened from a single central point — tightening the tensioner draws both cable ends simultaneously without either socket backing out. Selecting the correct thread direction for each end of the run is important — if in doubt, contact our team before ordering.
As with all swage fittings, a swage tool or crimping tool is required for installation. The swaged connection is permanent and cannot be undone once crimped.
