Post Converter – Adjustable Knock-in – Round – 38.1mm

The 38.1mm Round Adjustable Knock-In Post Converter brings the same pivot mechanism as the 50.8mm version to the slimmer 38.1mm post profile. It knocks into the open top of the post by hand and its pivoting mounting plate adjusts to the exact rake of the staircase, providing a correctly angled fixing point for a wooden or custom handrail without any modification to the post itself.

The 38.1mm profile is well suited to residential staircases where a slim, refined post is paired with a timber handrail — a combination that is both practical and visually warm. The adjustable converter makes this pairing work cleanly on raking runs, ensuring the handrail sits at the correct angle and is fixed securely to the post at every point along the staircase.

As with all knock-in converters, installation requires no tools, adhesive, or fixings — the stem presses into the post opening and the pivot is set to the required angle before the handrail is attached.

Which Grade Should I Choose?

Grade 304 is strong and reliable, suited to internal applications and external use in non-coastal, non-corrosive environments — ideal for inland areas such as Johannesburg, Pretoria, and most non-coastal suburbs.

Grade 316 (Marine Grade) offers superior corrosion resistance and is the essential choice for coastal properties, poolside installations, and any environment exposed to salt air, moisture, or chemicals. If you are in Cape Town, the Winelands, Durban, or any coastal area, Grade 316 is strongly recommended.
