The Green Polishing Compound is the cutting stage of the mirror polishing process for stainless steel. Applied to a polishing mop or buffing wheel, it removes fine scratches, oxidation, surface marks, and the micro-abrasions left by the finest abrasive belts — refining the surface down to a consistent, smooth base that is ready for the final finishing stage.
The green compound cuts the surface without removing significant material, making it precise and controlled — it improves the surface rather than reshaping it. Used correctly, it produces a bright, uniform surface that is one step away from a true mirror finish.
Always use the green compound before the white finishing compound. Attempting to achieve a mirror finish with the white compound alone on a surface that has not been cut with green first will result in a dull, inconsistent shine that no amount of additional buffing will correct. The sequence matters — green cuts, white shines.
